The „Ziemia Bydgoska” Song and Dance Ensemble, established in 1958, is a distinguished cultural ambassador of Bydgoszcz and the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region. Comprising over 170 members—including dancers, vocalists, and musicians—the ensemble is dedicated to preserving and promoting Polish folklore and national traditions. Their diverse repertoire features traditional dances and songs from regions such as Kujawy, Łowicz, Lublin, Kurpie, Beskid Śląski, and Eastern Kraków. Notably, they also perform Polish national dances in historical costumes from the era of the Duchy of Warsaw.
In 2024, „Ziemia Bydgoska” showcased their artistry at several significant events:
July 31 – August 6, 2024: The ensemble participated in the 30th Grande Festival de Folclore da Relva – Folk Show of the Atlantic on São Miguel Island in the Azores. Representing Poland, they performed Kujawy, Łowicz, and Lemko region folklore, and concluded their concerts with the Azorean song „El sol marinero,” which was met with enthusiastic applause.
August 29, 2024: They hosted a collaborative concert with the „Zaolzi” Folk Ensemble from Jabłonków, Czech Republic, at the Młyny Rothera terraces in Bydgoszcz. This event, part of the „Island of Cultures” project, featured performances of Kujawy, Lublin, and Łowicz dances, as well as Slovak and Romani dances by their guests. Ziemia Bydgoska

The Polanie Folk Dance Ensemble, based in Bridgeport, Connecticut, was established in 2016 by individuals passionate about Polish folk culture. The ensemble comprises four dance groups and choir members, aiming to introduce and preserve Polish folk traditions through dance, song, and authentic costumes.
The group’s mission is to engage in enthusiastic performances that bring joy to their audience. They have performed at various events, including consulate offices, weddings, parades, national festivals, and schools. The ensemble is led by Artistic Director Hanna Deja.

The Lajkonik Polish Folk Ensemble brings colorful, fun, and exciting Polish folk songs and dances to the Tucson community and beyond. Performing in colorful authentic traditional costumes, we bring Polish traditional dancing to life on stage with humor and energy. Presenting a wide array of folk dances from Poland, Lajkonik has performed in Phoenix, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Portland, and in Rzeszow Poland four times at the international festival of Polish folk ensembles. We are invited to perform at various festivals Slavic, Serbian, Hungarian, Lithuanian, Russian and Mexican concerts. And we performed at almost every Polish Festival in Phoenix.
Lajkonik is recognized for their excellence by the Southwest Folk Alliance, Tucson Pima Arts Council, Polish American Congress of Arizona and the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Los Angeles, Wspolnota Polska and The Chancellery of the Prime Minister. All wonderful costumes, workshops with experts, travel support to performances are also possible through fundraising and private donations and donation by Polish Cottage and Arizona Polish Club in Tucson. Although independent, the group benefits from St. Cyril of Alexandria Catholic Church in Tucson, which provides rehearsal facilities and encouragement.
Founder Joanna Schmit was a 2010 recipient of Polish Heritage Award from the Polish American Congress of Arizona and named a 2019 Recognized Polish Activist in the US West. Her son Matthew Schmit was selected a 2015 Young Polish Leader in US by Polish Consul General in Los Angeles. Joanna and Matthew Schmit were recipients of a 2017 Master-Apprentice Artist Award from the Southwest Folklife Alliance.
